Here you will find everything you need to know in regards to our Comp Team Expectations, Dates and Upcoming Comp/Eisteddfod information. This site will be regularly updated so please ensure you check back regularly.
At Parkes Dance Co our Competition Teams are for those who want to take their dance training to the next level. Parkes Dance Co offers competition team classes for every age group. These classes are offered to students who have shown the appropriate level of commitment and work ethic in previous classes.
Team members learn a selection of well-choreographed competitive dances, perform in different styles and are exposed to other inspirational performers at competitions. Our competition teams continue to enjoy fantastic success in local competitions.
To be eligible, competition teams have specific eligibility requirements in regards to the amount of classes and styles that students must do. All students are required to take Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical.
All Performance Team students must take the minimum: Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical class in their age group.
All students must have a PDC uniform and Jacket. Comp students are ambassadors to our studio and we expect them to wear their uniform consistently and act as ambassadors in their recreational classes.

In addition to our mandatory classes for competition students, students also have the option to participate in additional classes to further their training. Enrolment in these classes is presumed for the entirety of the year as with all other classes and are not on a week by week basis.
Competition Students from age 12 and up will have the option for additional Elite Technique classes where they can focus on key skill areas such as turns, kicks and jumps. These classes are included in the class package pricing.
Our Competition Teams are a team sport and as such it is very important that all team members are committed equally. Competition Team students are required to meet all class requirements and uphold the values of being a Competition Team student at our studio.
We understand that things happen in life, however we expect our Competition Team students to not miss their classes lightly and only when very unwell. If you are planning a holiday that falls on one of the performances or eisteddfods please let us know at the beginning of the year so their teacher can make appropriate adjustments if/where required.
All students are required at additional rehearsals.
As representatives of Parkes Dance Co Competition Teams we expect that our Competition Team students uphold the full Parkes Dance Co uniform values in every single lesson. This includes full Ballet uniform in Ballet classes.
Our Competition Team students are also expected to wear a team jacket as advised to eisteddfods as representatives of our studio.
Classes are priced as per our Parkes Dance Co fee schedule and are eligible for discounts as per our package pricing.
